The Create New interface is located on the Utility Bar under the System Administration COG icon ().

Function

The Create New STIP function allows a STIP Administrator to make a historical copy of the Active STIP window and create a new 10 Year STIP window. AKDOT&PF typically creates this new STIP window every 2 years; however, this process can be executed at any point.

There are two editable controls and one view-only field on the Create New interface:

Using "Create New"

The Create New interface will only be usable if there are no revisions pending approval. Revisions pending approval must be approved through the Actions interface or withdrawn and set back to the Pre-Approved or Staging tab for the Active STIP to be made historical.

Workflow

To use the Create New interface, the user must first enter a Beginning Year in the textbox. The entered Beginning Year must be a unique value (i.e. no other STIP begins with the same year). After a value is inputted in this textbox, the Ending Year textbox will automatically be calculated to 9 years plus the Beginning Year for a total of 10 years. Then, the "Create New STIP" button can be selected. Once this action is confirmed, the following will occur:

• The status of the previous Active STIP will be changed to Historical.
• All projects in the STIP with funding in the new STIP window will be copied into the new Active STIP (including any pending changes in the system). When projects are copied, all of their associated funding records, including those values outside of the new STIP window, will be copied.
• All pending changes will be removed from the Historical version of the STIP.
• The Revision numbers for the new Active STIP will be reset to 1.

Once the Create New STIP action is completed, the user will be able to view the new Active and Historical versions of the STIP from any of the modules (Projects, Budgets, and Actions). All pending changes will now be managed within the new Active STIP.
