The Detail tab will only be available after a Need ID is clicked in the Needs tab of the Needs interface.
Function
The Detail tab allows the user to view and edit detailed information about the need. This interface contains general, location, and document information for the project selected. Needs with a Workflow Status of Programmed and Complete cannot be edited; needs with any other status (ex. New and Undetermined) can be edited.
Sections
There are three sections in the Detail tab:
- General -- This section currently consists of fourteen fields: Workflow Status, Project Title, Description, Work Type, Landscapes, Program, Total Project Estimate, DOT Region, Strategic Investment Area, Performance Measure, Identified By, Primary Contact, Secondary Contact, and Project Manager.
- Location Information -- This section stores the location records for the selected project.
- Documents -- This section allows the user to view and add documents to the project.
Funding Information
If the need has already been added to the STIP (Workflow Status = Programmed), the Detail tab will have a Funding Information section. This section shows the funding associated with this project. The user will be able to view the Funding Table for the selected need on this interface. If the user wishes to edit the Funding Table, view the Fiscal Constraint Table, or have more capabilities, they can follow these steps:
- Go to the Projects interface.
- Find the same need on the Projects tab.
- Click on its Need ID to enter the Projects Detail tab.
Controls
There are three important controls that lie outside the above sections on the Detail tab:

Open an empty Detail tab to create a "child" record. This will make the currently selected need the "parent" record; the two records will now be related. This link will only be available for need records that are not already a child record. |

Save comments associated to the Need ID. This link will open a pop-up composed of a table and a New Comment box. The table lists all existing comments associated with the Need ID; users can edit or delete comments that they created here. The New Comment box allows a user to enter a new comment into the table. |

Open a print dialog so the user can specify the print details. |
