Permissions provide various levels of editing access to users in the STIP Manager system. A user can view their assigned permissions by navigating to User Settings (). This tool will open a pop-up which provides the application's version, build date, and connection source. Additionally, the current user's username will also appear on this pop-up.
The username is a link which opens another pop-up with a list of Permissions assigned to the user. The image below shows the format of this pop-up. It will be read-only.
Permissions
The permissions offered in the system are:
| Permission | Description |
| STIP Administrator | Allows edit capability for all STIP Manager modules as well as all System Administration functions. |
| TIP Administrator | Allows edit capability for Projects in the MPO selected in the MPO Management list box. If no MPO has been defined, this user will have access to all MPOs. This permission also allows edit access to pending changes on the Actions – TIP tab. |
| Region Administrator | Allows edit capability for Projects in the Region selected in the Region Management list box. If no Region has been defined, this user will have access to all Regions. This permission also allows edit access to pending changes on the Actions – Staging tab for the associated area. |
| Actions Pre-Approved Tab | Allows edit capability on the Pre-Approval tab. |
| Actions Revisions Tab | Allows edit capability on the Revisions tab. |

| Budget Fiscal Constraint Tab | Allows capability to edit Funds tab. |

| User Maintenance | Allows capability to add, edit, and delete users in User Maintenance. |
| Create New STIP | Allows capability to create a new STIP window which copies all current data to a new STIP. |
| FAP Administrator | Allows edit capability for all FAP modules as well as ability to sign any of the three State signature blocks. |
| FAP Certify | Allows edit capability within the FAP module and ability to apply first State signature. |
| FAP Recommend | Allows edit capability within the FAP module and ability to apply second State signature. |
| FAP Modify | Allows edit capability within the FAP module and ability to apply third State signature. |
| FHWA | Allows capability to approve or reject Amendments that have been submitted to FHWA for approval. Users with this permission assigned must have a 4-digit PIN. |
| FTA | Allows capability to approve or reject Amendments that have been submitted to FTA for approval. Users with this permission assigned must have a 4-digit PIN. |
| Manage Needs | Allows ability to create and edit Needs within the Needs module. |
