In the Projects tab, the user can filter the table through two search methods: Quick Search or Advanced Search. These search methods are essential to viewing accurate information in the Projects interface. They are described in detail below.
Quick Search
When the user opens the Projects interface, the user will immediately see the Quick Serach fields on their screen. There are three Quick Search filter fields: STIP, Search By, and Projects. These fields are further explained in the table.
| Field | Description |
| STIP | This field allows the user to choose the desired STIP to determine the data that will be displayed in the table and interface; if a Historical STIP is selected, the Projects interface will be view-only. |
| Search By | This field allows the user to choose between DOT Region, Borough, City, Program, or Need ID to filter the table. |
| Projects |
This field's options will be determined by the user's selection in the "Search By" picklist.
|
Once the STIP, Search By, and Projects fields are filled, the Project tab's table will display the matching projects. The Quick Search selections will be retained when the interface is closed.
Advanced Search
If the user needs more specific fields to filter the Projects interface, they can click the Advanced Search link beside the Quick Search fields. Once selected, a pop-up will open. The fields in this pop-up are explained in the following table.
| Field | Description |
| STIP | A read-only field that shows the selected STIP that determines the table data; if the user wishes to choose a different STIP, they must go back to the Projects tab and use the STIP Quick Search field. |
| Need ID | A textbox that can be used to enter the Need ID. |
| Program | A picklist of all available programs. |
| DOT Region | A picklist of all available regions. |
| Borough | A picklist of all available boroughs. |
| City | A picklist of all available cities. |
| Project Table | A textbox that can be used to enter the project name in whole or in part. |
| Funding Category | A picklist of all funding categories. |
| Description | A textbox that can be used to enter the Project Description in whole or in part. |
| Bridge ID | A textbox that can be used to enter a Bridge ID in whole or in part. |
The Need ID, Program, DOT Region, Borough, and City fields are also options in the Quick Search "Search By" picklist. If data existed in the "Search By" and "Projects" fields before entering Advanced Search, this data will be retained in the Advanced Search pop-up for the correlating field. For example, if DOT Region is selected in the "Search By" field and Northern is selected in the "Projects" field on Quick Search, the DOT Region Advanced Search field will show Northern for its value; however, this selection can be changed in the Advanced Search pop-up. A benefit of using the Advanced Search is the user can enter data for multiple or all of these categories (Need ID, Program, DOT Region, Borough, and City) while the Quick Search requires a selection of only one.
Once the desired fields are filled, the user can click the Search Projects button to refresh the table on the Projects tab. The user can reenter the Advanced Search pop-up at any time to update the table parameters.
