This tool is one of the Map Controls on the map ribbon.
Function
The Change Map Display tool is used to view STIP projects on the map.
Setup
The Change Map Display pop-up is composed of a STIP picklist, three project radio buttons (None, All, or Filter), six picklists (DOT Region, MPO, House District, Program, Strategic Investment Area, and Funding Year), three textboxes (Need ID, Project Title, and Description), one checkbox (Save for initial display), and one button control (Refresh Map). These items allow the user to perform map queries based on specific filters. Each of these filters are described in the table below.

| STIP Dropdown | Select the STIP window to map projects from. |
| None Radio Button | Display no projects on the map. |
| All Radio Button | Display all projects with a valid location on the map for the selected STIP window. |
| Filter Radio Button | Filter projects in the selected STIP window by one or more of the filter options (picklists/textboxes). |
| DOT Region Dropdown | Display all projects within the selected region. |
| MPO Dropdown | Display all projects within the selected MPO. |
| House District Dropdown | Display all projects within the selected House District. |
| Need ID Textbox | Enter the Need ID in whole or in part to map any matching projects. |
| Project Title Textbox | Enter the Project Name in whole or in part to map any matching projects. |
| Description Textbox | Enter the Project Description in whole or in part to map any matching projects. |
| Program Dropdown | Display all projects with funding assigned to the selected program. |
| Strategic Investment Area Dropdown | Display all projects with the associated Strategic Investment Area. |
| Funding Year Dropdown | Display any project that has funding programmed for a specified year in the STIP window. |
| "Save for initial display" Checkbox | Save the selection and display the current set of projects each time the application is opened in the future. |
| Refresh Map Button | Dismiss the Change Map Display interface and add the selected projects to the map. |
Workflow
The user can follow these steps to use this tool:
- Select a STIP in the picklist.
- Select a project radio button-- None, All, or Filter.
- If "None" or "All" is selected, no other fields are required/available.
- If "Filter" is selected, the other fields can be filled (DOT Region, MPO, House District, Need ID, Project Title, and Description, Program, Strategic Investment Area, and Funding Year).
- Check the "Save for initial display" checkbox if desired (optional).
- Click the "Refresh Map" button.
